She is currently the co-host of the podcast Office Ladies.Fischer's debut book, The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide released in November 2017. Fischer was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. [4][5] Anne Miller Her mother is a historian. James E. The first time she appeared was at six years old when she participated in an acting workshop together with her mom at Henry School, St. Louis. The class was also attended by Sean Gunn, the actor who was her childhood friend. [8] She went on to Pierremont Elementary School in Manchester Missouri and Nerinx Hall high school in Webster Groves Missouri. 9 She holds an undergraduate degree in theater and minor in Journalism from Truman State University.

Then in 1991 she headed to Indianapolis where she began anchoring WISH's newscast at 11PM as well as anchoring the CBS affiliate's newscast at 5:30PM with colleague Scott Swan.
