Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of a number of novels. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news site and a TV host, author, and philanthropist. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age 16. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. She was elected president at the age of 21 of the famous debating club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. The years that followed when she graduated, she became an important conservative syndicated journalist. Then, a couple of years later she created The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the politics. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and political issues. Arianna gained notoriety during 2003 when she ran as an independent in a recall election in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. She was ranked 12th in Forbes' list of most influential female journalists. That same year, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. This was a huge acquisition that included a number of AOL brands at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. Konstantinos was a business consultant as well as a journalist. Though she shared a kinship relation to her mother and father the bond between them which helped mold her. Even during her formative times, she demonstrated her leadership qualities for which are still in high demand. at the age of 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the third and first female to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist and critic and an anchor on a TV show. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also a highlight. She started writing books with his guidance with editing.
